Pumpkin Farm

Today Aidan and I went to Old Baker Farm in Harpersville. We went a few weeks ago and met the cousins and Nan but today we went with Christy, Avery and Baby Davis. We had such a good time. The boys didn't walk anywhere, they ran at full speed. Avery really liked the baby calf and Aidan liked the hay maze. It was a beautiful day to be outside and we could not have asked for a better place to spend the afternoon. The baby goats we saw several weeks ago have almost tripled in size and the pigs were awake today, running around wagging their cute little tails. A duck we saw before is still claiming a certain spot of hay but today she was actually sitting on eggs. It was interesting to listen to Aidan talk about the changes in the animals since the last time we saw them and things that we did on the last trip. He has such a memory! The farm trip was a great release of energy for Aidan because we spent the morning waiting in lines to sort out a tag problem for Derek's truck. There's nothing like waiting in line at not 1 but 2 different DMV's on the next to last day of the month to renew tags! We got Derek's tag problem corrected and Aidan even got candy from both ladies that helped us.

Tomorrow, of course, is Halloween. We have a BIG evening of trick or treating planned. Last year Aidan and Avery were Woody and Buz (Toy Story fame) and it was quite a night. They ran at full speed between the first few houses, until Avery did a face plant in a flower bed and Aidan complained of tired legs. If the owner of the house didn't answer the door quickly enough the boys would ring the doorbell several hundred times, after each house Aidan would hand his hat and bag to anyone that would carry it, and he sat on the sidewalk the last house or two while Avery asked for candy for "my friend Aidan who is sitting down". Avery was a little trooper considering his pleather pantsuit was rubbing him in the wrong places. It was an interesting night! I'm sure this year will be as memorable.
