Visit to Alex City

Today Aidan and I went to AC to visit Nan. We also went to enter Aidan's train quilt in a quilt show at the local library. Karen made the quilt for Aidan and she spent countless hours on it, my mom says it is one of the best stitched quilts she has ever seen(and Mona knows quilts). Karen made a small quilt for Aidan when he was a baby but she was inspired by his love of trains to make this quilt. Each train looks like a Thomas friend and Aidan can name them all. He entertained several grandmothers and mothers this afternoon by showing off his quilt and telling them who each train was. The library is offering a "visitors favorite quilt" prize so I called a few friends and asked them to go vote for Aidan's because he is VERY interested in winning something. Of course they all agreed to go vote several times!

We had a wonderful visit in AC. We had lunch with Nan and Jordan (my oldest niece) and visited with Mimi and Pappy. We played with Spencer and Abby also. Aidan got a small taste of big brotherhood in dealing with Abby. She was very interested in everything Aidan was doing and the second he put an object down she went for it. At one point he was holding the crayon box above his head telling her to leave it alone because you aren't supposed to eat crayons (which is what she likes to do). He was very nice about it but not real sure how to handle the situation. In the end he placed everything out of her reach. He did attempt to lock Abby in Nan's bedroom but I made him open the door. Being a big brother may not be so fun after all.

Aidan had a great visit with everyone and we are planning on going back to AC next week to see his quilt in the show and of course, cast our votes!

By the way, Aidan's day at the farm was rained out and his school will re-schedule. Hopefully my camera will be back by then.
