What a day

My friend Christy and her family welcomed Davis into the world today! Her c-section went great and she sounded fantastic an hour or so after the surgery, it wasn't until the medication started wearing off that reality set in. Davis stayed in the room with her for several hours, I listened to him coo and goo over the phone, but the doctors realized that all the cooing and gooing was really fluid in his lungs that didn't get squeezed out during birth because he came out an open door, not through the peep hole(if you are a woman you get the comparison). He was taken to NICU to be watched but from what I understand, this is common for c-section babies. Hopefully he will be back in Christy's room later Friday night. I'll post a picture when I get to see him.
Aidan and Avery were SO excited when I picked them up from school and they were getting to ride together. We played several hours, filled the plastic pool with water, blew some bubbles, chased Mo with the hose, had some popsicles, and then played in Aidan's room. They played trains for about an hour. After Avery's Nana picked him up, we went to visit Christy in the hospital. Aidan in a small, hospital room for an hour and a half is a strain on my nerves, but a bag of chips and cartoons on TV helped a bit. We then headed to Patrick and Christine's house for the Steelers game. Luckily for us the Steelers won, otherwise Patrick would have had a nervous breakdown and started crying. There were a few "bad" calls (according to Patrick) that resulted in quite a bit of screaming at the TV, several touchdowns that resulted in Patrick jumping up and down and landing on Derek, and one play that resulted in Carson crying because Daddy's yelling scared her (way to go Patrick). Newbaby was pretty excited during the game as well, I'm not sure if he will be a Steelers fan or if Patrick was just scaring him as well. It was probably just Patrick. We had a great time but Aidan had a compete meltdown when it was time to go. He left in tears because I would not let him "borrow" one of Carson's toys. It's so hard to be 4.
