Cookies and pillow forts

Aidan's second day of school seemed to go pretty well. Yet again we got off to a rocky morning. Derek discovered Aidan had gotten juice on the tv screen and it has caused a black spot in the picture, so of course Aidan got in trouble. Aidan was very upset, as well was Daddy, but somehow we made it out the door with clothes and tennis shoes on and hair combed down(the hair doesn't always get combed down). When I picked Aidan up from school he told me he had a good day, that he did not have to sit on the bench during playtime(small miracle) and that I had forgot to pack his lunch AGAIN today so he had to eat some small stick with syrup (french toast sticks) but he didn't like it and threw it in the trash. When I asked what he ate for lunch he told me that he ate some other kid's peanut butter and jelly sandwich because she was not at school today but her lunch was. I'm glad that kid's mom forgot to call in and tell the catering service her child was sick today or else Aidan would have starved! I'm not so sure this hot lunch ordered through school is the way to go. Tomorrow his lunch is mac and cheese which he loves but you never know.

Tonight Aidan is spending the night with Namaw and Pops so he decided he wanted to make cookies to take. After we made the cookies he helped me with dinner, and then we built a pillow fort. Pillow forts are always fun, especially when you have a warm cookie to eat while in your pillow fort AND watching cartoons. Life doesn't get any better than that!

Tomorrow should be interesting because my friend Christy(Avery's mom) is having a C-section in the morning(her baby is too darn big to get into this world any other way) and Avery gets to come home with us after school. Then tomorrow night we are going to Aidan's friend Carson's house for a "Kickoff to the NFL Season Gamenight Party". Carson's dad is a HUGE Steelers fan (he has been ever since Derek has known him, he's not a "just jumped on the bandwagon" fan) so tomorrow should be a good day! Plus, Aidan only goes to school Tuesday-Thursday so he will get to stay up late tomorrow night and watch cartoons with Daddy. A big complaint this week because of the newly implemented "early bedtime for school" rule. I bet Derek complained about early bedtimes as a child too. Like father like son....
