Happy Birthday Daddy

It's been about a week since my last post and it has been quite a long week. We've had the usual things to do but Newbaby is starting to make me very uncomfortable, Derek even has to tie my shoes for me now. He thinks it's pretty funny but I hate the fact that I can't do something as simple as bending over to tie shoelaces. I spent the week in overdrive, cleaning out every closet, packing up summer maternity clothes, pulling out winter clothes, cleaning the garage, taking the tags off and washing Newbaby's clothes, and I even managed to do some yard work. Thursday after school, Aidan and I went to Alex City for one more visit. We visited the library to see his quilt (which we voted for), we went to watch Spencer's soccer game, and then we had dinner with Nan and a few of her friends from her widow's support group.
This morning we met Spencer, Abby and Jordan for Christmas pictures. Luckily, we were in separate cars because Spencer threw-up (of course on his picture outfit) and the smell made Abby throw-up (she's such a good baby, she didn't get any on her outfit). It would not have been a pretty sight if I had been in that car! Hanlon somehow managed to get everyone cleaned and to pictures on time. It was quite an event.
Today is Daddy's birthday. He would have been 65. Like most dads, he never made a big deal about his birthday, it was just another day. We always celebrated but if I asked Daddy what he wanted for his birthday, year after year I got the same answer, he didn't want a gift, he already had everything he needed that made him happy. I'm sure I would have gotten that same reply if I could have asked him this year. I know the kids Christmas pictures were not scheduled today because it was Daddy's birthday, but that's how it happened. Daddy had his grandchildren together, for a picture, on his birthday. I'm sure he was smiling down on them, having a very happy birthday.
