Asher's new chair

Asher has began to try and climb onto the couch and chairs in the living room, he doesn't usually get far without help because he just can't seem to get his leg up far enough but I'm afraid he will be climbing in the near future. In an effort to avoid a tumble off the couch or a chair I bought him his own chair. Asher seems to like it, but seconds after this picture was taken he turned around, stood up in the chair, and he and the chair fell over. His face broke the fall and of course there was blood. He's fine now, he cried for a minute and then he was on to something else. Good thing I bought the chair to avoid him getting hurt.....

And here is the progress of the ants. I've include pictures from the front as well as the back. I must admit, I'm pretty impressed by the ants.

I did not get a picture of Aidan's completed "winter project". Asher tried to eat the head of Avery's snowman, I had to dig it out of his mouth. Luckily the head was fine, a little mushy on the top but the eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth remained intact. We added some penguins(happy meal prizes from Surf's Up) which were about the same size as the snowmen and we also added a car(even Eskimo's have to have transportation). I'll try and get a picture when it comes home from school.

Hope you're having a good week!

Sweet Angels

It's been a long day and the boys are sleeping, I thought I'd share their sweet faces.

The ants have had a busy day as well....

Wishing you a blessed night!

Brother's toys

There are many strange things about having two children. One of which is the fact that Aidan loves Asher's toys, and Asher loves Aidan's toys. It works out pretty well, Aidan doesn't mind sharing his stuff with a drooling little brother as long as he gets to play with Asher's stuff.

Asher and I spent some quality time in Aidan's room this morning playing Star Wars. Momma's version of Star Wars is different from Daddy's version but luckily for me Asher did not know the difference. You'll notice that Luke is in his fighter backwards and the storm trooper is going in upside down, hey...it's whatever works best! Seeing Asher with the Darth Vader head on really made my day. He loves pressing all the sound buttons and I can't wait until he figures out that pushing a particular button allows him to make noises like Darth Vader.

And last but not least, the ants are making progress....

They're here....

Yea, the ants are here! This might not be something you would say but Aidan got an ant farm for Christmas and he has been patiently waiting for the ants to arrive and today was the big day. He was a bit concerned when I handed him the envelope because he didn't want to open it and the ants escape but when he discovered they were safely contained in a tube he was fine. He and Avery tried to name the ants but soon realized they all looked the same so to keep things simple, they all have the name Bitey. Now if only those ants would dig faster. I've loaded two pictures so you can see the tunnel difference in only a few hours. I'll keep you updated on their progress. We also have an almost completed winter project for school, Avery needs to put a body on his snowman but I've included a picture anyway.

Hope you are having a great week!

I Love School

When I was a teacher I loved the breaks, now as a stay-at-home mom, I only love the breaks for about 2 seconds. Ok, maybe a few days but having Aidan and Asher at home(which means Asher does not nap well) is exhausting. And when the day came to go back to school I was thrilled. At least summer won't be as bad because we can get outside and play more.

We've had several highlights...we had snow last weekend which was great(we had several snowball fights and Asher really liked the stuff falling from the sky), there were a couple of bday parties to go to(Aidan really liked the hayride at Spencer's party-or maybe it was the fact the trailer got stuck in the mud), Aidan is signed up for baseball and he is so excited(Derek is a coach so this should be interesting, Avery has been over to spend the night a few times(and is over tonight), we are working on a "winter project" for school(I'll post pics next week), we got our invitation to Erin's wedding and it was a message in a bottle(Aidan thought it was a map to a pirate's treasure), Asher has fallen about a million times this past month and he has the bruises to prove it(he needs the second dose of his flu shot but I refuse to take him to the pediatrician's office until he doesn't have any bruises on his face), we've visited AC several times(Spencer is even coming to spend the weekend with us soon-of course it's not soon enough for Aidan), Asher got moved to a new Sunday school class(of course Pops made the move with him so all is good), Aidan and I went to see the musical Annie(his friend Emma and her grandmother went with us so he had a good time), Asher spent some time with Pops and Namaw this week because I have been sick(which I got from Asher) and Aidan has already decided to have a monster truck themed birthday party(of course he does have 5 months to go). Enjoy the pictures...

Great news!!! For those of you who follow the link to Madison's blog(a friend's granddaughter that has been fighting leukemia) she got the all clear from her doctors! She is no longer receiving chemo and her port(the tube on her side that was used for chemo) has been removed and she is doing great! Please continue to pray for her and her family.
