the gift that keeps on giving

There is nothing is this world like a box. It never fails, both boys seem to love the box the gift came in better than the gift itself. In this case, it was a suit valet that was a gift to Derek but it came in a big box. Yesterday Aidan and Asher played in the box(top and bottom) and today Aidan and Avery had been playing with the box all day long. They spent about an hour, each hiding under either the top or bottom, crawling around the house. It seemed to be SO much fun because I would remark, as a box slowly moved past me, that I had no idea how that box was moving by itself, was it a turtle box? a ghost box? a magic box? They even crawled over each other at one point, somehow managing not to show any body parts, all I saw was two boxes crossing paths- one on top and one on bottom. The imagination of a 5 year old. The boxes moved outdoors at some point of the day, and now (it's dark out) they are STILL playing in the boxes. Forget all the super cool Christmas presents, it's the boxes that are the most fun.

Maybe this can be a new business for me. Want to buy a box?
