The Thanksgiving Deer

I'm not sure if you remember your Thanksgiving plays of years past but Aidan has his first ever Thanksgiving play tomorrow. He is excited, the dress rehearsal was this morning, but it didn't start that way. Several weeks ago, when the parts were assigned and sent home, was a different story. Aidan was given the ever wonderful part of the deer(what you don't remember a deer in your Thanksgiving play? me either)That was not a fun afternoon, he wanted to be an indian. He cried some and then told me he just wouldn't be in the play. Luckily we've moved forward since then. I bought a deer to go with our Thanksgiving play set(the pilgrims and indians seem to appreciate the addition), and we picked out some new brown clothes for the costume. He got to make his antlers at school and it helped that he is good friends with the other deer. We'll see how it goes, oh and the best part...deer don't have to waste time memorizing their lines-they don't have any!
