just one of those days

Monday morning I went to get in my car and discovered my keyless remote was not working so I had to manually unlock my door(turn the key twice so all the doors unlock), unload an arm full of stuff, and then put Asher in his car seat. After I dropped Asher off at mother's day out, I went and purchased a new battery for the remote. Nope, wasn't the battery. I called the Volvo dealership and they said they would have to hook my car to the computer to figure out what was wrong, when was a good time for me to drop it off? There is never a good time for me to drop my car off but I settled on Wednesday. I suffered through the rest of the day having to manually unlock(wow, I realized how spoiled I am to have a remote!). Tuesday evening, I got into my car and discovered I had no interior lights or vanity mirror lights(putting Asher in his car seat is a bit difficult in the dark but I did manage). This morning the thought did cross my mind what else would go wrong when I walked out to my car, especially since a friend of ours had his car catch on fire and burn this past Monday due to an electrical problem! Imagine that, you've just arrived at a meeting and someone comes up to you and informs you that your car is on fire in the parking lot. Did I mention it was his first day at this job? Back to my car story, I spent this morning at the Volvo dealership and they discovered a blown fuse was the culprit. It was actually an enjoyable hour. I read a magazine cover to cover without a single interruption! That hasn't happened in 5 1/2 years!

I also had a few good chuckles today. When I got home from a morning of errands, I discovered a small white sock hanging out of my left shirt sleeve. Who knows how long it was there and how many people saw it. I can only imagine what someone would think if they did see that. "Oh, poor girl. I wonder what kind of morning she had." If only it was known that this morning I walked into Aidan's room to witness Asher pulling out the tissues from the Kleenex boxes, yes, boxes as in more than one. He had two actually, Aidan's floor was covered in blue and green tissues. Last time he did this I saved the tissues but this time I just threw them away. I also had to fish a hairbrush out of the toilet and a PlayStation game controller out of the diaper pail. This was all before 8:30am. In the past 24 hours Asher has spilled 2 drinks, last night he got Derek's drink all over himself, the living room floor, and chair(it was a beer so you imagine the smell!) and this afternoon he tried to get a sip of my diet Dr.Pepper. That was a few hours after I had mopped the living room to get rid of the before mentioned smell. So I guess I should not be concerned about walking around town with a sock hanging out a sleeve, I'm lucky just to make it out the door with my sanity.

The other chuckle moment was the belt Aidan has been wearing all week. He decided that he wanted to wear a belt to church Sunday so I dug around and found his belt. He also wore it to school Monday and at some point it ended up in his backpack. I found it this afternoon and as I was taking it out, I noticed the size...6-18 months! My almost 6 year old has the waist of a toddler. To make things worse, I tried the belt on Asher. It fit Asher about the same as it fit Aidan! I'll have to get some pictures of them wearing the belt. It's pretty funny.

I hope you have a few chuckle moments this week. I'd love to hear them!
