Whirlwind weekend

Wow, it has been nonstop since Thursday. Seussical was a big hit with Aidan and his classmates on Thursday. It told the story of Horton Hears A Who and it wasn't too long so it held there attention. Avery came home with us after the Valentine's party and Asher had some quality time with Pops. Friday morning Aidan and Asher got haircuts(Asher was such a big boy!) and then we tried to go to Chuck E Cheese with Avery and Davis but it was packed so we went bowling instead. Bowling with 5 year olds is always fun! Aidan puts his whole body into the ball release and it's quite amusing to watch. You also have to chase the occasional bowling ball thrown down the wrong lane or the early release that sends the ball toward the onlookers, not the pins. Good times.

Friday afternoon we met my sister-in-law and got my nephew Spencer for a long weekend. In the 40 or so minutes it took us to get back home all Aidan and Spencer talked about was underwear(it was such a strange conversation I don't really know where to begin to explain), they chewed an entire pack of gum, and Spencer had apple juice shot out his nose and mouth because Aidan said something that made him laugh mid-drink. Asher was in awe the entire trip.

Saturday was filled with lots of playing, Aidan's first t-ball practice, another attempt to Chuck E Cheese(the line was out the door so we went bowling again), lots of pizza for lunch, playing at the park with Avery and then Avery coming over to spend the night. It was quite the night. They got along rather well and I made them go to bed by 9:30 so it wasn't that bad for me.

Sunday morning they played outside(going to church was not an option), we had pancakes, and they got along great. After Avery went home, Spencer and Aidan took a bit of a nap to make it through the rest of the day. This morning(after more pancakes) the boys are playing Star Wars, Asher is napping and I taking the opportunity to post. It's been a fantastic weekend, I'm so glad that Aidan and Spencer get along so well and enjoy being with each other. It's nice to have a cousin your same age. Asher has been right there with each step. He stays in Aidan's room and thinks he's playing everything they are playing. He sits at the table with them like one of the big boys and would probably sleep with them if I let him. Aidan and Spencer don't mind that Asher wants to be with them, they let him play. Of course in a few years they might not feel the same way but only time will tell.

My mom is on her way so I've got to get everyone ready, have a great week!
