beans, beans, good for the heart......
Yesterday, Aidan and I rode with Avery's mom(Christy) to pick Avery up from camp. Avery has been at Camp Cosby (a YMCA camp about an hour out of town) since Sunday afternoon. It's a really neat camp, it gives a city kid a chance to appreciate the great outdoors and finer things in life they may miss in the city. They have activities like horseback riding, swimming(in the lake and pool), arts and crafts, archery, and BB guns. Avery's favorite things were shooting a bow and arrow and shooting a BB gun. Avery had a good time but he was ready to come home. Maybe next summer Aidan will want to go.
Last night, to celebrate Avery's homecoming, we grilled out. Hotdogs, potato salad, chips, and baked beans. Asher loves baked beans, but baked beans do not love Asher. He had gas all day and it has been foul. I kept thinking he had a poopy diaper but no, just the baked beans coming back to torment me and Aidan. Asher will have to find another food to love, or next time he has baked beans he will go visit Namaw and Pops the next day!
Aidan's leg is looking much better since his escalator accident. I did hear him explaining to Christy that he was running when he had been told not to and next time he won't run on the escalator. Lesson learned, even if it was learned the hard way. Unfortunately, that may not be the last lesson he has to learn the hard way. I'm not sure if there is a true life lesson that can be learned the "easy" way.....

Sounds like time for Daddy to teach the boys about the "Dutch Oven" -- a lesson he taught his younger cousin, complete with a rather vile demonstration, many years ago..
