time flies....

wow it's been a while since my last post! We have done so much, Aidan finished kindergarten, we went to Key West for Erin and Gordon's wedding(which was SO much fun!), we had KidLife week(vacation bible school) at our church(I taught Aidan's class), Aidan turned 6, my nephew Spencer stayed a week with us and he and Aidan went to zoocamp at the Birmingham Zoo, Father's Day, Derek's birthday, throw in a few trips to the lake and that about catches us up. Oops, one more HUGE thing happened....Aidan has officially learned to ride his bike with NO training wheels. I did shed a few tears, it's such a big event in a child's life. I remember when daddy taught me, we where in our drive way and I was on a hand-me-down bike from my brother. Anyway, Aidan is very proud of himself. He did about 30 laps around the playground. His starting and stopping are still a bit rocky but he's getting there. His stopping technique is to go very slowly, steer to a bit of grass and jump for it! Hey, if it works for him who am I to change it? Another big event was that Asher spent his first night away from me and Derek. He and Aidan spent Father's Day night at Namaw and Pop's house. They had a great time and not only did Asher sleep\ all night, he even slept until 9 or so!

We are having a wonderful summer. The temperature is a bit cooler than normal, it's still hot but not our usual sweltering heat. We go to the library each week for a children's production. This week was a puppet show that Asher loved! It has been his favorite show yet. So far we've seen a singer and a guy talking about dinosaurs. I enjoyed the dino guy but that's just me.

Hope you are having a good summer. Hopefully I'll post a bit more frequently. I'm sorry that I have no pictures. We had a power outage last week that sent our computer into a coma and I haven't taken the time to figure out how to get pictures on the laptop. I'll work on that...
